Here is all you should know about AFCON 2017 fixtures…

The African Cup of Nations will  kick-off this weekend and we can expect the usual excitement which the tournament provides when it rolls round every two years. Gabon will be hosting 368 players from 16 nations starting from 14th January, 2017.

Ghana who finished up as runners up at the last edition of the AFCON, have been drawn in a tough Group D along with Egypt, Uganda and Mali in the January 15 – February 5 tournament. The Black Stars who have not won the AFCON for three decades now, are hoping to come home with the continental trophy this year.

Players have expressed great optimism as they warm up for the tournament. Veteran players like Asamoah Gyan are indeed confident that with sufficient hard work, Ghana will win the tournament this time. The 23-man-squad carefully selected by Coach Avram Grant consists of Ghana’s best players both home and Abroad.
