According to him, the Vice President drove into their factory and bought the vehicles. He also said the Veep drove off one of the vehicles himself after the purchase.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur buys two Kantanka vehicles in fulfillment of a promise he made to the Kantanka Group of Companies some months ago. On the 24th of May, the Vice President had posted on his Facebook page that he placed an order for three Kantanka vehicles. The post read:

“When I met car maker Kwadwo Safo today, I told him that I am expecting to take delivery of three of his vehicles that I have placed an order for…”

The Vice President disclosed that the major thing that influenced his decision to purchase the vehicles was the commitment of President Mahama’s government to supporting domestic enterprises. He explained that purchasing a vehicle from the local manufacturers isn’t at all difficult.

According to him, they are affordable, and has many advantages attached as regards their being completely locally made. He also appealed to Ghanaians to purchase the vehicles since there are trained mechanics who can help fix them when they develop faults.

“It wasn’t a difficult decision at all, it was very easy. The cars have a certain quality. They compete favorably with the imported ones. They are also cheaper and there’s local availability of parts and expertise to fix them if there are any problems,” he explained.
