Speaking in an interview with Hot FM in Accra, Gyan blasts Countryman Songo, describing his sports programme (Fire for Fire) as a comedy show, which people only watch to entertain themselves

Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has rudely come down on sports journalist Patrick Osei Agyemang, host of popular sports programme “Fire for Fire”, which airs on Accra based Asempa FM and Adom TV. As it appears, Gyan has had it with the tough talking presenter popularly known as “Countryman Songo”, who according to him (Gyan), has been broadcasting false stories about him.

Speaking in an interview with Hot FM in Accra, Gyan blasts Countryman Songo, describing his sports programme (Fire for Fire) as a comedy show, which people only watch to entertain themselves. Hurling more criticisms at the host, Gyan described Countryman Songo as an uneducated journalist, who lacks adequate training in the journalism profession.

According to him, Songo “has been spewing lies and deceiving the country”. He explained that the man in question has been promoting untold lies about him, without facts to back his stories.

The Al Ahli star pointed out during the interview, that his problem is not the tons of criticisms hurled at him by the journalist, but the those founded on lies and fabricated stories. Mocking him further, he advised other journalists to educate Songo because he is not educated.

Gyan recently signed a one-year deal with United Arab Emirates (UAE) reigning champions, Al Ahli. The deal which was sealed on transfer deadline day, followed an unsuccessful one at English side, Reading FC.

Countryman Songo has been known over the years for his lash comments, against prominent people in the society. The controversial sports journalist months ago, was reported to have been suspended for verbally attacking former Transport Minister Dzifa Ativor and EC boss Charlotte Osei.
