Recounting a lot of things that have gone from good to bad, and bad to worse under the 8-year Mahama-led administration, Bawumia asks Mahama the whereabouts of the transformation he talked about…
Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has queried President Mahama of the transformation he has been promising Ghanaians.
Bawumia asked these questions during the NPP’s campaign launch of Shirley Botchway, Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom in the Greater Accra region.
Making reference to various aspects of the economy that have gone from good to bad, and bad to worse under his eight-year rule, Bawumia asks Mahama where the transformation he often talked about is. In his words,
“NDC took over the reins of power at the time when the country’s GDP growth was at 9.1%. Now the 9.1% growth has reduced to 3.6%. Where is the transformation they spoke about? When they took over the cocoa output was almost a million tonnes in 2010 from about 700,000 in 2008. Now it is less than 600,000 tonnes. Where is the transformation they are talking about?”
We would recall that this is not the first time Dr Bawumia has condemned Mahama’s management of the economy. The NPP’s Vice Presidential candidate has always taken delight in making nonsense of the incumbent NDC administration.
Addressing, students of Nurses Training College in Navrongo in May, he had said that Ghana’s economy under Mahama is a ‘kakaamotobi economy’. According to him, it scares one and all – both locals and foreigners from all walks of life.
He therefore, urged the people to ensure that Mahama is removed from office by massively voting for Nana Addo, seeing he is the only one that can effect the desired change in Ghana.
