Kofi Kinaata’s ‘unique’ performance of ‘Susuka’ as we can see left Berla Mundi disappointed, and she hasn’t hesitated to point out the flaws
Like few others, host of GhOne TV’s Rhythmz, Berla Mundi has come out to criticise the performance of one of the award winners at the VGMAs. Kofi Kinaata’s ‘unique’ performance of ‘Susuka’ as we can see left Berla Mundi disappointed, and she hasn’t hesitated to point out the flaws. Kofi Kinaata who took home the Best New Artiste and Songwriter of the Year awards indeed gave a ‘performance to remember’.
The only issue Berla tried to point out is that during his performance for his song ‘Susuka’, the songwriter of the year had barely dressed ladies whom were “twerking” their behinds on stage. This according to Berla was passing a wrong message to the audience. The song ‘Susuka’ is an inspirational song which is meant to inspire and encourage motivate people.
Berla who was obviously disturbed by this act decided to speak out against it. Just before she concluded her show on Monday, she congratulated Kinaata for his award, but did not hesitate to leave behind some words of caution to the artiste.
“I was just very disappointed that while performing Susuka on stage, he had girls barely covered up, doing things that they shouldn’t have been doing on stage. I thought that was a no-no-no. I mean I understand when you want to get dancers on stage…but this is a song which is supposed to motivate people,” she said.

She also did not hesitate to mention that SP Kofi Sarpong who was sitting right in front of the girls was so embarrassed and couldn’t look. She however advised that Kofi Kinaata’s creativity team should look into it and ensure that such ’embarrassment’ doesn’t re-occur. “Susuka is an advice and you had almost naked girls twerking” she added.
