Bukom Banku Granted Bail After Allegedly Beating 3 Women


Popular boxer, Braimah Kamoko, also known as Bukom Banku has been granted bail after he was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting three women. It is alleged that Bukom Banku assaulted the women after one of them rejected his request for sex.

Some reports have also said he assaulted and beat up his ‘lover’, Charlotte Naa Densua Doodo alongside two others, after she refused him sex. According to ASP Afia Tenge, Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, investigations are still ongoing on the case and he will soon be arraigned.

Bukom was siad to have been granted bail at the sum of GHc5,000 with two sureties. Bukom who was denied sex by the lady was also alleged to have vandalized properties at her residence. The victim had recalled several incidents she had been assaulted by the comic boxer. According to her, Bukom Banku claimed he could not be arrested and so, will continue to assault her if she denies him sex again.

She also recounted that the outspoken boxer bragged no one could report him to the police because he will pay his way through prosecution.

Lately, the comic boxer has been drawing negative attention in the media. He was arrested in January 2015 for allegedly inflicting physical harm on some persons after a disagreement at the ‘Kpashimo’ – a local celebration, procession at Gbese in Accra.

Bukom Banku was said to have  opposed the ceremony following some speculations that the procession had intended to sing against his fetish priestess wife, Amoah Woyoo, also known by her fetish name as Ohua Broni.

The people involved in the the ‘Kpashimo’ procession were however, unwilling to have their annual ritual disorganized  by the boxer. The situation had led Bukom Banku and his men to attack some people in the area using machetes and bottles, causing havoc at the procession.
