Don 1 Tells Diamond Appiah to Pay Obinim’s Fraud Cash

The songstress who has hitherto been known for her constant defence of the controversial pastor whenever he pops up in the news for the wrong reasons. When the trending attacks against Obinim for flogging two teenagers in his church was at its climax, Diamond Appiah was among those who defended ‘Angel Obinim’, insisting that he was truly directed by God to do so.

Diamond Appiah had used uncharitable words to describe those who hurled criticisms at Obinim for publicly flogging the teenagers. For this reason, Prince Tsegah, also known as Don 1 has challenged the entertainer to pay Obinim’s alleged Gh¢11.6 million cash or henceforth, keep quiet.

Speaking on Amanda Jissih’s ‘U Sey Wetin’, a gossip segment show on Hitz FM, Don 1 asked Diamond to prove her loyalty to Angel Obinim by paying the amount which has led to his arrest. He pointed out that her payment of the amount will prove she is truly a loyal follower and not just anyone who wags her tongue whenever her master is in trouble.

It is therefore in response to this that the singer took to her Facebook wall Wednesday evening to let the world know that she is ready to bear her bishop’s burdens. Diamond Appiah who is obviously doubting the actual existence of the victim, said that they are ready to pay the GHc11.6 million if Obinim actually defrauded the someone of the amount. This is what she wrote –

“Dear Ghana Police, Where is your complainant? Are u trying to tell Ghanaians that it was a Ghost that made a case against Bishop Obinim? We are ready to pay the 11.6 million cedis if is really true, but ur “Ghost” of a Complainant is out of coverage area? It seems he doesn’t exist.

Eeeiiii is Ghana a serious country? You claim the case was made to Ghana police in November 2015 so why arrest him now? To be continued….. #Still at Police Headquarters #Free Bishop Obinim Now !!”

Bishop Obinim was arrested alongside one of his junior pastors over fraud allegations on Tuesday. Reports from the Police say the victim approached the pastor for a ritual blessing over the said amount, made from his family’s gold business. Having been instructed by the pastor to to bring the GHC11.6 million for blessing, the victim did so but ended up neither receiving the said blessings nor having his money back. After making futile attempts to retrieve his money from the Bishop, he finally resorted to reporting him to the police.

Obinim has since been in detention and awaiting trial. However, his lawyer, Atta Akyea has disclosed that he [Obinim] denied having any knowledge of the crime he is being accused of.
