Five People Arrested In Connection With Abuakwa North MP’s Murder


The shocking Abuakwa North MP’s murder has had all units of the police and investigative bodies digging for possible leads. According to reports, five people, two women and three men who are believed to be connected with the murder have been arrested by the police. One of them is the security guard who was said to be present at the time of the murder and some residents of the house.

The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police ASP Effia Tenge has urged everyone to help the police in finding the culprits responsible for the MP’s murder.

Five persons comprising two female and three males have been arrested for interrogation. The police hereby wish to solicit the support of the general public to get to the bottom of this incident as soon as possible,” she said.

She said this at a news conference this morning after the discovery. She also provided some contact numbers to the public encouraging them to contact the police if they have any information that could help the police in their investigations.

She also said the crime scene and the area of the residence has been properly secured to enable uninterrupted investigations by the team. The police has set up a team of experts on Crime Scene Investigations and homicide investigations who are already present at the crime scene in search of a possible leads to the murderer.

The Abuakwa North MP’s murder came as a shock this morning when word about his demise broke out. He was reported to have been stabbed by yet to be confirmed culprits who broke into his residence.
