And the favoured one keeps moving from grass to grace. Olajumoke has got yet another feather added to her cap as she becomes the face of Stanbic IBTC. The latest 27-year-old model, was unveiled as the face of the multinational bank on Monday, February 16. A Nigerian online shopping brand, PayPorte in an official ceremony, also signed TY Bello’s fashion discovery, the former bread seller, as its official 2016 campaign face.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the award-winning photographer TY Bello, Jumoke’s husband Sunday, her lawyer, Mr. Yomi Adeseyoju, publicist, Ms. Azuka Ogujiuba, Irene Kayoma, Head-Corporate Strategy/Planning and Noble Igwe were all present at the signing.
The miracle story of the bread seller turned model has been on the discussion agenda of Nigerians and has recently gone global as the lucky star appeared on international news network CNN
In her CNN feature last week, with Stephanie Busari who conducted the interview, Olajumoke broke down in tears as she spoke for the first time.
“I never expected that this could ever happen to me, my friends have told me they saw me on TV and they are really happy. My parents cannot believe their own child can become such a success. They are all so happy,” she said on CNN
Olajumoke’s rise to popular demand was engineered by Nigeria’s renowned photographer and singer TY Bello. According to reports, she was photographing UK pop star Tinie Tempah, when Jumoke walked into the shoot. Some people had asked her to walk past quickly but the then bread seller just stood confused, but then TY Bello had asked if it was okay to take her picture which she consented. The pictures however turned out to be really spectacular, and the rest is history.
”No one believed she just walked past. It occurred to me that if everyone thought she should be a model then maybe she should be one, then the search for her began”, TY Bello had said.
This in all ramifications is a touching and inspiring story for all.
