Ghana’s Deputy Chief of Staff in-charge of operations, Kenneth Wanjagi, has called on Northern Region residents to come out in their large numbers and vote for their own; President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, they would be making a mistake if they fail to endorse President Mahama in the December polls, considering that he is a northerner.
The Deputy Chief of Staff made the comments at the launch of the NDC’s regional Campaign at Bimbilla in the Northern Region. The NDC regional campaign launch brought together some of the bigwigs in the region including the Deputy General Secretary, Koku Ayindoho, Mohammed Muniru Limuna, the campaign coordinator, Mohammed Mumuni, Inusah Fuseni and Murtala Mohammed, among others.
Being a northerner, it is expected by many that the President will get massive votes from the northern region. But the Chief of staff as we can say does not want to take chances in his fight to see that Mahama becomes Ghana’s choice come December.
At the launch, Kenneth Wanjagi reminded the northerners of all the projects the President has done in the north, assuring them of better things to come if they vote for Mahama.
He also urged them to vote for Mahama so he’ll complete the works he has started. He stated that some of the uncompleted projects like the eastern corridor road, as well as some schools and hospitals, are likely to end up in their current state should another party come into power.
Stating some of Mahama’s achievements in the north, he noted that under the President’s regime, northerners have witnessed an international flight from the north to Suadi Arabia at the Tamale International Airport.
Ghana’s Deputy Chief of Staff also went further to question what northerners will be telling the world if they do not show love for their own citing the Volta and Ashanti regions as an example.
