The Gyan-Ayew rumoured beef has caused the on-loan Al Ahli star to speak again, reiterating there is no rift between them
There is no rift between Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and Midfielder Andre Ayew, the former has reiterated. There have been reports that the West Ham United attacker has been eyeing the captaincy of the Black Stars and has therefore created tension between himself and the Black Stars skipper.
But the Al Ahli loanee has maintained he has a warm and friendly relationship with the assistant skipper of the senior national team Andre Ayew. Speaking to Joy FM, Gyan debunks the rumours saying they are promoted by unknown people who wish to bring about discord within a team or between two players.
He explained that Dede has been a very good friend who has admired him over the years. He described Dede as a great guy and a fighter who plays with his heart. He also said that such strategic reports are not new to him, as he has gotten used to such. Gyan during the interaction, advised the public to stop promoting rivalry between players, as it could bring conflict in the team -the last thing Ghana needs now.
Gyan in an interview a few months ago, had admired Dede’s skills, saying he would make a good Black Stars Captain; another proof he has no grudge against him. Addressing the Gyan-Ayew rumoured beef, Dede too has stated he has no intentions of unseating his boss. He said he is rather receiving training from Gyan so he will be able to replace him efficiently when he has left the team.
Following a failed deal with English side Reading FC, Gyan was signed on transfer deadline day, to current club Al Ahli. The skipper as usual, has proved himself at his new club -scoring on his debut against former club Al Ain.
