There has been series of mockery on social media from the public concerning IGP Kudalor’s Doctorate degree
Though it has not been completely ascertained, information from citifmonline.com has revealed that the Inspector General of Police, IGP John Kudalor has gotten a Doctorate degree from an unaccredited University. This information follows a statement by the Ghana police Service, that the police boss has bagged a doctorate degree.
The statement by the police service which was signed by the Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, Supt Cephas Arthur, said Mr. Kudalor earned the Degree from US-based Dayspring Christian University. The statement read:
The academic laurel of Doctor of Psychology- Conservative Model + ad eundem was awarded to the IGP on 28th June, 2015. However, the award was received early June 2016, when Mr. John Kudalor visited the United States on official assignment. The Police Public Affairs Directorate is not immediately available for comment on the issue.
However, there has been series of mockery on social media from the public concerning IGP Kudalor’s Doctorate degree. But then, it is not yet clear when the IGP took a PHD course, and the nature of the programme he studied.
Notwithstanding that, it is important to note that the Dayspring Christian University is one of four universities listed by Ghana’s National Accreditation Board, as not meeting the Board’s accreditation criteria. The Board had warned the public against such institutions.
It had happened that some of the unaccredited universities were conferring honorary awards to prominent people in the society. Such acts by them was what brought about the accreditation board’s warning to the public against patronising the institutions.
IGP Kudalor was appointed by the President to the position in an acting capacity in November 2015. He took over from the former IGP Mohammed Alhassan, who was to commence his accumulated leave prior to his retirement. in Mr. John Kudalor was finally sworn in as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) February 2016.
