Nana B has emphasized that incompetent Mahama cannot in any way be compared to Former President Kwame Nkrumah
Defeated parliamentary candidate for Mahnyia North Constituency, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), has described as blasphemous and denigrating, the NDC’s identification with former president of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. Boakye’s comments come after the National Democratic Congress used Kwame Nkrumah’s voice in one of their campaign bulletin.
Nana B who is a communication member of the New Patriotic Party wondered why the Convention People’s Party (CPP) watched with folded arms, the ruling party’s attempts to liken the Nkrumah administration to that of incompetent Mahama. Speaking on Peacefm’s Kokrokoo on Tuesday, Nana B stressed that there is no way the Nkrumah administration can be compared to the incumbent Mahama-led administration.
According to him, the high level of corruption, hardship, stealing and unemployment being witnessed under the present government were never known in Nkrumah’s time. Nana B pointed out that the Mahama-led government have ruined firms established by Nkrumah. He stressed that he cannot explain why the CPP did not react to the NDC’s action.
Are CPP members in this country? How can they sit down for the NDC to be denigrating Dr Kwame Nkrumah? Was there this level of corruption in Kwame Nkrumah’s administration? Hardship, stealing, unemployment?…what kind of blasphemy is this? Comparing such an incompetent president to Kwame Nkrumah…I mean how? This administration has rather collapsed most of the companies established by Kwame Nkrumah; that is why I don’t understand why the CPP is quiet…, Nana B reiterated.
However, the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt, has reacted to Nana B’s rebuke of the CPP, refuting his claims that the CPP are keeping calm. According to him, it is not true that they are not speaking or doing anything.
In his reaction, Kwesi Pratt warned Nana B not to create the impression that CPP can’t speak for themselves. He told Nana B that he has no right to challenge the party nor tell them what to do. He also pointed out to him that NPP’s John Kufuor also used Nkrumah for his campaign.
He however stated that he would have been happy were Kwame Nkrumah still alive.
