The Fateful Night
According to the charge sheet; On the night the late New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, for Abuakwa North , Joseph Boakye Danquah died, the alleged Danquah’s killer went to his residence at about 1:00am with “catapult, a cutter and a sharp knife”. He made his way into his residence with the help of a ladder and entered the bed room through the window whilst the deceased was asleep. He began searching the room and that was when the deceased woke up and held him. He stabbed the deceased on the right chest above the breast. The deceased held the knife and shouted for help but no one came. The suspect pulled the knife through the deceased hands creating a deep cut in his palm.
The cuts from the knife stabs caused the deceased to bleed to death before help came. A funeral was held in memory of the late MP at the State house on April 15 in Accra. He was subsequently buried the next day in his home town, Akyem, Old Tafo in the Eastern Region.
