As the Kalyppo Challenge which started after a picture of the NPP Flagbearer Nana Addo sipping the fruit juice went viral continues, a picture of Private Owusu dressed in his military police outfit clutching the Kalyppo drink has circulated on the social media.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Army, Colonel Aggrey Quarshie, the military uniform is the property of the GAF and thus, anybody who wants to use it for personal purposes must apply for clearance. Since the officer took the pictures in his uniform without authorisation, the GAf is investigating the situation.

He pointed out that, there are rules and regulations  that govern the use of photographs and any other thing in which military accoutrements are used. He said that if the soldier involved is found culpable, he will be sanctioned.

A picture of Nana Addo sipping the fruit drink had gone viral on social media, and was reportedly intended to mock the NPP flagbearer. But NPP supporters succeeded in pushing the argument that Nana Addo was promoting local products by consuming the drink.

These loyalists, to show their support of the NPP leader, now take pictures of themselves sipping Kalyppo and post them on social media. This has also led to the invention of the hashtag #KalyppoChallenge on various platforms. A Facebook page ‘Kalypo Movement for Nana,’ has also been created to enhance the challenge.
