According to the charge sheet, the incident took place during a case between Lawyer Hansen’s client, Mrs. Grace Nana Ama Oparah, and National Investment bank. While acting as her counsel, the Kumasi lawyer deceived her into paying a huge sum of  GHC50,000.00 as filing fee, knowing fully that the statutory fee was GHC748.00.

The Lawyer for that reason was charged under Rule 9(8) of the Legal Profession Rules, 1969 L.I. 613. Lawyer Hansen will henceforth, not be allowed to operate as a legal practitioner or render any professional legal service to anyone.
