MUST-READ: Nana Addo Goes Biblical; Says the Battle Is the Lord’s and Mahama Will Fall Like Goliath!

Nana Addo assuredly stated that although Mahama comes like Goliath, he [Nana] will defeat him like David!

Nana Addo who before now is known for making constant references to God, prayers and the Bible has once again made everyone to understand that his trust is fully in God for the victory he is expecting in the coming elections.

The third time aspiring president of the New Patriotic Party has stated categorically that victory is sure for the NPP in the coming elections because “The Battle is the Lord’s”.

Nana Akufo-Addo made these remarks while addressing party supporters during the NPP Manifesto Launch at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra on Sunday. Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch, Nana Addo stated assuredly that although Mahama comes like Goliath, he [Nana] will defeat him like David!

This he said while pointing at the ‘apparently unlimited’ resources at the disposal of his major opponent, the ruling National democratic Congress (NDC) with which he said they are buying the people’s votes. Nana Addo said that the NDC has more outboard motors, head pans, cash, cars, roofing sheets, laptops, sewing machines and many other goodies which they have been distributing to the people. He however stated that even in the midst of the unequal wealth of the two major oppositions, the NDC will be defeated by the NPP.

According to Nana Addo,

They have more money than us, but the battle is the Lord’s. They have more outboard motors, more roofing sheets, more laptops, more sewing machines to give away but the battle is the Lord’s. They have more giant sized billboards than us, but the battle is the Lord’s.

Buttressing this point, the NPP flag bearer made an allusion to the Biblical story of David and Goliath, saying that the NPP [Nana Addo] is David while the NDC [Mahama] is Goliath. To lend more credence to his faith, he quoted 1 Samuel 17: 45-46, where David boasted in the name of Lord.

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel [Ghana], whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel [Ghana].

He therefore appealed to all NPP supporters to stand their ground throughout the period of electioneering and voting. He also urged them to sound out loudly, the message of the party as the fate of Goliath is what will befall the NDC come the December polls while the NPP will come out victorious.
