President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned a newly constructed six-unit classroom block for the Ada SHS in the Greater Accra Region. The Ultra-modern facility comprising two staff common rooms and nine toilet facilities was donated by the Ideal Finance Groupe.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the President of the group, Dr. Nii Kotei Dzani, said education and health development is not supposed to be the sole responsibility of the government. Therefore, individuals and corporate bodies are supposed to facilitate the efforts of the government by contributing to the development of these areas in the society.
Dr Dzani said that the completed project is generally aimed at providing quality education for the community through the provision of good infrastructure. He then added that the specific objective behind undertaking the project is to see that Ghana advances in the Millennium Development Goals, the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as achieving Universal Education.
Speaking further, Dr Dzani pointed out that Education is key in nation building and as a brand, they want to contribute in shaping the lives of these students who are the future leaders. It is in this light that they have provided both the students and teachers with a conducive learning environment which would enable them concentrate on their studies.
Buttressing this same point, Director of Groupe Ideal , Ekow Blankson said the ultra-modern school block will facilitate the transformation of education in the community. He added that the group carried out the venture, in their quest to give back to the society.
Expressing immense appreciation for the gesture, the Acting Headmaster of the school, Mr Samuel Nakoji promised to ensure that the new building is well maintained for the benefit of the students and the community at large.
If we could still recall, Ideal Finance, which is a leading micro finance company in Ghana had promised to construct a six-unit school block for Ada SHS last year during the celebration of the group’s 5th anniversary.
Speaking to the media in 2015, Dr. N Dzani who happened to be an old student of Ada SHS said he is very proud to be a “Nimeli” past student of the school and the building will be a token from his company to honour the school that brought him up. Now, the promise is fulfilled.
