In fulfillment of his promise, Mahama gives Abudu regent a brand new car, to facilitate his movement.
The regent of the Abudu Royal Gate of Dagbon, the Bolin Lana Mahamadu Abdulai, has become one of the chiefs who have benefited from President John Mahama’s car donation. In fulfillment of an earlier promise, Mahama gives Abudu regent a brand new car to facilitate his movement. The car is a Toyota Fortuner V8 with registration GN 7732-16. Abudu royals have been singing Mahama’s praises in appreciation of his fulfilled promise.
On behalf of the regent, the Deputy Secretary to the Abudu Royals in Dagbon, Abdullah Abubakari Sadique, has thanked the President for his kind gesture. While showing appreciation at a news conference in Yendi, he reiterated the people’s commitment to sustaining peaceful co-existence in Dagbon.
The news conference was set up to debunk circulating rumours that the Dagbon regent rejected and returned the gift to the President. The rumours came on the heels of a Metro TV reportage that some Abudu chiefs pressurized the Boling Lana to return the gift. Debuking the earlier reports, Abdullah urged the media as well as the general public, to disregard them as they the Abudus are appreciative of Mahama’s gift.
At the conference also, Abdullah Sadique called on government to perform the funeral rites of late two overlords of Dagbon as promised. According to reports, funeral rites have not been completed for the two late lords in question; Yaa-Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV and Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II.
Adullah urged government to perform the funeral rites of the two as soon as possible. He explained that the continuous delay of the rites of the late Yaa-Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV, has remained a matter of huge concern among the Abudu royals.
