The supporters say Nana Addo should pardon Muntari and Boateng when he is sworn in; because they will be a valuable asset to the country’s national team.
With Nana Addo’s swearing-in imminent, many demands and requests have been made to the next president of Ghana. Among so many others, the President-elect has been urged to pardon suspended midfielders Sulley Muntari and Kevin Prince Boateng, to enable them return to the Black Stars.
Several local fans are urging Nana Addo to pardon the duo, to pave way for their return to the team ahead of the crucial Nations Cup in 2017.
Sulley Muntari together with Boateng, were suspended indefinitely from the Black Stars, for what the club described as “disruptive behaviour” during Ghana’s 2014 Brazil World Cup.
The 30-year-old however, rendered an apology earlier this year, asking for pardon from the Ghana Football Association (GFA). But despite his apology, government has maintained that Muntari should not be recalled into the team, to maintain discipline.
Seeing as the country is set to see a new administration, sympathizers have begun urging President-elect Nana Addo to consider recalling the suspended midfielders back to the team. Abraham Nkansah, president of Die-Hard Supporters Union, has called on Nana Addo to pardon Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng when he assumes office, to enable them play for the Black Stars again.
According to the union which is one of the vibrant supporters groups in the country; President-elect Nana Addo should pardon Muntari and Boateng when he is sworn in, because they will be a valuable asset to coach Avram Grant, as well as the country’s national team.
As it stands, Muntari and Boateng’s return to the team is still under probability, as the new government might want to uphold the decision of the present government on the issue.
Meanwhile, do you think Crucial Congo Clash would push Coach Grant to recall suspended Kevin Boateng?
