Shatta Wale To Flop 2016 VGMA With His Own Concert On The Same Night?


Award winning artiste, Shatta Wale seems to have taken a swing at the VGMA for bolting him out of the awards. According to information gotten from, the singer is organizing a musical concert to take place same night as the VGMA show.

Shatta’s ban from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) was made known during a press conference held on February 23. The issue was revealed ahead of the nominees announcement ceremony which is to hold on February 26. There had been circulating rumors of his ban from the awards this year.

Shatta had rained insults on Charterhouse, the organizers of the awards accusing them of a lot of things. Consequently, organizers of the event announced that since Shatta was yet to apologize to them for last year’s insults, he stands ineligible to contest in this year’s awards.

Still adamant to admitting his wrongs, the dancehall king is said to be organizing a musical concert themed ‘No More Sorry, Kakai’ at the Accra Sports Stadium on the 7th May 2016 which is the same night for the VGMA show.

It is also said he has some well loaded sponsors who are making funds available for the concert to hold. If these rumors turn out to be true, then one can begin to wonder, which of the shows would attract more audience.

The dance hall king also went on SunCity Radio and gave some inspirational advice to his fans. He told  fans never to give up on their dreams, as he has not given up on his. Revealing the meaning of Shatta’ to be @serious’, he urged them to take their work serious to achieve their dreams.

He also said the launch for his new album ‘After the Storm’ might just be free as he looks to continue to give back to the people.
