SHOCKING! Nana Addo Is More Influential Than President John Mahama In Ghana

Dr. Mensa Otabil of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), has been voted the most influential person in Ghana in the Ghana Most Influential Awards 2014. The Ghana Most Influential Awards is an annual event organized by E.TV Ghana to recognize Ghanaians who have made meaningful and significant contributions to society, especially in Ghana during the year under review. Nana Addo, who is the main contender  of the incumbent president, John Dramani Mahama, in the forth-coming 2016 general elections, beat competition from his political opponent and was voted in second place while the president himself was voted, 25th in the list of 100. Others who made it into the list of 100 Influential people in Ghana include; Former President of Ghana, John Kufuor (14th), Actress, Yvonne Nelson (29th), Gospel Singer, Sonny Badu (57th), Olympique de Marseille Striker, Andre Ayew (60th), Citi FM’s Bernad Korku Avle (72nd), among others. The result was put together by the television station with the votes gotten from a cross-section of the Ghanaian public and a specially constituted committee.

Public voting was 75%, the  online voting was given a 5% voting weight, whilst the specially constituted committee had a 20% voting weight, totaling 100%. The entire voting process was verified, vetted and approved by Pannell Kerr Forster (PKF), a highly respected audit firm. Mr. Eric Tettefio, Senior Partner at the firm added that “we have reviewed and vetted the processes for the nominations and the voting mechanism for Ghana’s Most Influential Awards and we confirm that it is transparent and the final list is very credible.”

Past winners of the Ghana’s Most Influential Awards have included Cardinal Turkson (2010), CEO of Zoomlion Ghana, Mr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong (2011), CEO of Agams Group of Companies, Mr. Roland Agambire (2012) and Ghana Presidential Aspirant 2016, Nana Akufo Addo (2013).
