Swansea City has signed Aston Villa’s forward Jordan Ayew…

It’s Jordan Ayew’s turn to taste Swansea city, as the Ghanaian forward has signed a new deal with the Wales club. Confirmed reports reaching BuzzGhana has it that the Black Stars striker has signed a three-and-a half year deal with the English Premier League side on Tuesday evening.

While the monetary terms of the transfer remains sketchy, it is understood that the deal will have Jordan joining Swansea on an exchange deal which will see the club’s left back, Neil Taylor join Aston Villa.

The club will have to wait, however, as the striker is currently on duty at the African Cup of Nations tournament where he is playing for Ghana. He is expected to feature for the country as it faces Cameroon in the semi-finals on Thursday and remain until the finals on Sunday. Jordan aims to make the most of his opportunity back in the Premier League following his move from Aston Villa.

Ayew Brothers and Swansea

Jordan Ayew is becoming the second member of his family to join Swansea. It is expected that he would play a vital role as the club struggles to stay in the top flight, being a spot away from the relegation zone.

It can be recalled that Jordan’s elder brother Andre, had had a rather short spell with Swansea between June 2015 and August 2016, after he moved to Swansea on a free transfer from Marseille. Dede Ayew left Swansea to join West Ham on a £20.5m deal.

While at Aston Villa, Jordan got 10 goals – including one against his new club – in 58 games. He scored his first goal for the club on 24 October 2015, against Swansea City, in the 62nd minute. Aston Villa were relegated at the end of the 2015–16 season, winning only 17 points, but Ayew did end the season as their top scorer albeit with just 7 goals.

At the moment, the Ayew brothers have wowed Ghanaians and brought a sense of relief among citizens, having taken Ghana’s Black Stars to the AFCON semi finals. The brothers also earned significant titles for themselves as Ghana reached AFCON semi finals on January 29.

Jordan Ayew was adjudged Man of the Match at Black Stars’ 2-1 win over the Leopards. With the move back to the top league, Jordan aims to make the most of his opportunity back in the following his move from Aston Villa.
