Wayoosi reveals it was the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare who sent people to give him the said amount, and not the President.
Kumawood star Joseph Nana Osei Kofi, aka, Wayoosi, has responded to reports that President Mahama donated a sum of GHC 5000 for his treatment while he was on his sick bed. According to him, it was the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare who sent people to give him the said amount, and not the President.
Speaking on New Mercury in the Garden City, Wayoosi reveals that James Twumasi Ankrah and Rocksone, informed the minister about his sickness. He continued that it was after that, that she made the donation to him.
Talking about Mahama’s donation, Wayoosi said that Mr. Beautiful only told him about the President’s wish to help fly him abroad for a transplant. The Kumawood actor who was discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi some days ago, used the medium to thank the Tourism Minister for her donation which came as a surprise to him.
Wayoosi a few weeks ago suffered a critical illness which nearly took his life. There had been earlier rumours that the actor was dead, but reports and pictures of his critical condition had trashed the rumours. Social media buzzed for a while with pictures of Wayoosi’s critical condition at the hospital. Circulating reports then, had said there was no known diagnosis to his illness hence, increasing the fear of the public.
More so, friends and family of the actor had begun soliciting prayers, as well as funds for his medical bills. It was during the soliciting that the Tourism minister reportedly heard about his condition. Wayoosi received donations form different people during the ailing period.
