A tangible discovery has been made through series of ongoing investigations on the Kumasi Hotel Robbery:
A 28 year-old woman has been arrested by the Police in the Ashanti Region for allegedly masterminding a robbery that led to the death of a police officer, Corporal Frank Essel, last month at the Open Space Hotel at Denkyehmouso, Kumasi.
According to reports from Citi News, the woman, identified as Abena Serwaa, is believed to have contracted the two robbers who carried out the robbery at the hotel.
The suspects on that day, robbed victims of their valuables, shot dead the police corporal, and injured a male receptionist at the hotel.
The Police had subsequently placed a GHc 5,000 bounty on the killers of Corporal Essel who are on the run.
The Deputy Ashanti Police Commander, ACP Ampofo Duku, while addressing journalists today [Monday], revealed that Abena Serwaa specifically directed the robbers to some occupants of the hotel, who she believed were carrying large sums of money.

ACP Ampofo Duku also revealed that the items found on Abena Serwaa when she was arrested, included an amount of GHc1,487, substances believed to be marijuana and medical supplies she claimed she uses for a business.
Meanwhile, the police are having high hopes that Abena Serwaa will assist them in apprehending the two suspected robbers and killers of the police officer who are still at large.
From all indications, Kumasi is almost becoming a hub and haven for all sorts of dare devil robbers and criminals. However, the police in the region appears to be holding a promise of being in control.
