Being single is never a crime. After all, no lady with a good self esteem will ever beg a man for marriage no matter what people feel about her status.
All the same, not being married till one’s late twenties is associated with many unpleasant things, especially in a typical African society. To be frank, it is not as easy as you may think. In this article, we present to you, fifteen single Ghanaian women who though they are still single, have continued to carry their shoulders high in the society, hence, are counted among the most influential in Ghana.
Joselyn Canfor Dumas, born on August 31, 1980, is a Ghanaian TV presenter and actress. Today, she is the epitome of TV hosting, event hosting and acting. She has won many awards these past few years of being active. She also has a daughter, and from what we know, Joselyn spent a few years in the USA, she decided to move to Ghana to pursue her dreams and so far she is successful.
2. Rev. Joyce Aryee
Chief Executive of Salt and Light Ministry, she is a highly disciplined and self-motivated woman. Joyce Aryee has lived exceptionally and given every woman hope of getting to the top with or without a man. Aside serving on many boards and as the Chief Executive of the Ghana Chamber of Mines for about 10 years, Madam Aryee is also a public relations executive, a counselor, and an environmental consultant. In her private life, she has married twice, and when both marriages broke down, she once said marrying again is not on her agenda for now.
3. Elizabeth Ohene
Miss Elizabeth Ohene is a prolific writer who has worked as a Reporter, Staff Writer, Columnist, and Acting Editor of the Daily Graphic and Mirror. She also had the opportunity to serve as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Graphic Communications Group Limited. From the look of things, we can say that she is a career lady and so may not be unnecessarily perturbed about her status.
4. Doreen Andoh
Doreen Andoh, popularly regarded as “the queen of the airwaves,” is over 30 years but looks young and cute! She is a wonderful radio presenter whose voice is enough to make your day if you happen to tune your radio to Joy 99.7 FM every mid-morning. For a long time now, many have grown to like Doreen just for two things: her soothing voice, which is very hard for anyone not to like, and the tunes that she dishes out daily to the hundreds of listeners of her show: The Cosmopolitan Mix. To be frank, she is one of the most influential celebrities in our list.
5. Nana Aba Anamoah
Nana Aba Anamoah is a single mother of one. She is a TV host, precisely, the bubbly broadcaster at GHOne. She is highly respected in her field of work. We are still very hopeful that a man will soon come around and take her down the aisle.

We do not want to link her to something she might not be although she was known to be a tomboy back in her school days at Aggrey Senior High. Jessica Opare Saforo is one of the hottest radio and television personalities in the country. She is former host of Miss Malaika and Citi FM’s Traffic Avenue. She is currently co-host of the most popular celebrity and lifestyle programme in Ghana – The Celebrity Fanzone on Viasat1. Jessica has lots of awards to her credit, with the 2015 Most Influential Radio Personality on Social Media being one of them. For the better part of her working career, she hosted ‘Brunch in the Citi,’ a programme that gave her lots of popularity.
Jessica has really outgrown the blackmail that she is a lesbian and had stayed focused to achieve all her dreams, even as a single lady. She is the founder of a weight loss programme, “Transformation with Jess”.
Rebecca Acheampong (Becca), is a Ghanaian singer-songwriter and actress. She was a contestant on the second season of TV3’s annual singing competition, Mentor. She has a studio album titled Sugar to her credit, which earned her five nominations at one of the Ghana Music Awards. It was once rumored that she was disowned by her father; whatever be the case, she is still one among the highly rated single Ghanaian stars.
9. Yvonne Okoro
Yvonne Okoro is another beautiful and fantastic actress. She climbed unto the movie stage just four years ago but is quickly walking her way to fame. One can’t really pinpoint any man this woman has dated but has been connected with some big heads in the political sect though none of this has been confirmed yet. It is no exaggeration if I say that Nadia is one of the goddesses of the Ghana Movie Industry. Her spotless light skin makes her appear most desirable. No argument, though Nadia is yet to get married, she is among the most influential celebrities because of the numerous achievements she has made in life so far. She is a popular Ghanaian Radio and TV presenter. Deloris is very hardworking and now owns a boutique, Mackerel product and TV show. She is the host of the popular Ghanaian TV programme, Delay Show. Delay is also very popular and influential despite the fact that she is still single.
12. Confidence Haugen
Confidence Haugen, aged 39 is a socialite and businesswoman who has single-handedly built and grew her business to what it is today. She is presently the CEO of Afrodisciac Night Club, Konfidence Clothing and Mamaga Restaurant. Mzbel is a staunch activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and made resounding waves during the last elections with several attacks and counter attacks on who deserves the presidency – John Mahama of NDC or Nana Akyfo-Addo of NPP.
