What a wonderful way to give back to the community. A Ghanaian actress Bridget Serwaa Kwakye, (known in the industry as Maame Nurse) who is based in Kumasi has decided to give back in a very unique way, by personally funding the construction of a 24km road at Nkwanta-Kese.
According to reports, she has already started construction at the Nkwanta Kese inner roads in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region.
Determined Maame Nurse started the project with two graders, (a blade and a maintainer) to create a flat surface for the road to be motorable. As a matter of fact, when completed, the road will be the first inner lane that has been asphalted at the area.
Though Bridget Serwaa Kwakye does not reside in the town, the Kumawwod actress funds 24km road aimed at bringing about better networking in the area. Talking about what motivated her to do take up such task, she said she was touched by the poor condition of the roads in the area. She explained that the Nkwanta-Kese road project will give a face lift to the current state of some of the roads. The actress also said the project was her way of giving back to the society, as well as her fan base.
The actress also revealed that she has helped in providing good water, street lights and poles to the Nkwanta Kese Township. In as much as she acknowledged the potential impact her service would create, Bridget also called on government as well as high profile personalities to imbibe the act, so as to reach out to as many poor communities as possible.
