Amakye Dede is set to take to the stage once again since his accident. The legendary highlife artiste would on March 5 perform at the Citi FM Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) Awards, which is to take place at Alisa Hotel Ridge Arena.
The one week long Citi FM Music of Ghanaian Origin Festival which begins on Monday 29th February 2016 is to be climaxed by the Awards on March 5. Amakye is very much anticipated to set the stage on fire with his performance which is like a welcome back performance since the gory accident which nearly took his life.
The fully resuscitated Dede and his band are set to perform a collection of his hit songs on the awards night where other musicians who have also excelled in the past year would be honoured.
Bessa Simons, Ebo Taylor and Bob Pinodo are also expected to perform that night.
The following awards are to be presented that night: MOGO Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Song Writer, Best Performer, Best Band/Group, Best producer and MOGO Best Collaboration,
The award is set to be graced by music legends who have made history in Ghana music industry. Also lifetime achievement awards would also be given to legends whom have contributed a lot to the music industry.
The Citi FM MOGO Festival will begin with the Nights with Music Greats from Monday February 29 to Wednesday March 2. The series will begin with Ebo Taylor on Monday, followed by Bob Pinodo and K.K. Kabobo on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
The event would not be a ticketed one. These iconic figures would share their stories with guests at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill and equally perform their hit songs.
Other awards to be received include; MOGO Best Male Act, MOGO Best Female Acts, MOGO Album of the Year and of course, the coveted MOGO Lifetime Achievement Awards.
