WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontey Wilder who has not snapped out of his excitement having fought against Canadian Bermane Stiverne; has reportedly declared readiness to face British WBA, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles holder.
This was revealed by boxing promoter Eddie Hearn who says that a bout – Anthony Joshua vs Deontay – will take place between the two boxers in 2018 but talks are being held to know where and when that fight will ensue.
Wilder called out Britain’s IBF and WBA champion after defending his WBC title against Bermane Stiverne on Saturday. Hearn met Wilder’s promoter in the USA on Thursday and urged the American to keep his financial demands realistic.
However, no deal has been made yet.
Anthony Joshua vs Deontay – The Deal
Talks between both camps have commenced and the date and venue of a possible world heavyweight unification fight would be confirmed soon.
For a deal to be struck, Eddie Hearn says that a middle ground between fantasy and reality will need to be found in order to strike a perfect deal for the fight. On this note, Hearn reportedly urged the American to keep his financial demands realistic.
In the real sense, Anthony will have to agree to overpay his opponent to be able to strike a deal. The fact remains that Deontay will not accept anything thing average as he would think its disrespectful.
