As Attah bags another award, it means upward ever for the rising child actor!
Ghanaian rising starcAbraham Attah has yet again bagged another prominent international recognition following his role in Netfilx’s ‘Beast of No Nation’.
The Mayor of Massachusetts, in the United States has presented the young actor with the key to the state in recognition of his Excellence in Art. Abraham Attah earned this great honour on the 23rd of July, at the African Youth Excellence Awards.
The African Youth Excellence Awards is an annual event which recognizes the achievements of pursuers in the areas of art, education, information technology, entrepreneurship, innovation and humanitarianism. It aims at recognizing, as well as shining the light on young Africans pursuing excellence. It is also its objective to create an enabling environment for networking.
Abraham Attah bags another award at the event which took place in Worcester, Massachusetts. The young actor was honoured for his achievements as he was presented with a key to the city of Massachusetts by the Mayor, Joseph M. Petty.
In a citation,the Mayor congratulated Abraham Attah on his achievements as a young actor. A section of the citation reads:
Your award winning performance captivated world audiences; those profound strides serve as inspiration for young actors like you.
Ghanaian undercover investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas was also honored at the event.
As Attah bags another award, it means upward ever for the rising child actor who has been making the country proud since after playing the child soldier role in the Beast of No Nation movie.
The 15-year-old Attah has gained both national and international recognition in form of awards which include, Best Young Actor at the Venice film festival’s Marcello Mastroianni Awards, the Black Film Critics Rising Star Award, Best Breakthrough Performance at the National Board of Review Award, Best Male Lead at the 31st Film Independent Spirit Awards, Best Actor at Tacoma Film Festival, two awards at the Ghana Movie Awards, NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture, and the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young.
He has also featured in some other movies, including Bryan Singer’s short drama, Out of the Village. The young actor is currently studying under Netflix Scholarship.
Abraham Attah is currently on location shooting in Atlanta, Georgia for Sony-Marvel’s upcoming Spiderman: Homecoming film.He is expected to be back to Ghana in August for his peace campaign dubbed ‘Abraham Attah Ghana Summit’ which seeks to educate and create awareness on the need for peace before, during and after the December elections.
