‘Don’t Be Influenced By Financial Benefits in Nov. Polls’ – Nana Addo

Nana Addo has charged Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be pushed about by money which politicians are ready to hand out to them before or during the upcoming elections in order to influence their decisions.

He said this while speaking at the final funeral rites held on Saturday in honour of the late ana Asafo Adjei II, ex-Krontihene of the Akwamu Traditional area.

This is a special year for Ghanaians. This election is not about GH¢10 or GH¢20 (handouts). It is about our future as a country. At this moment, access to education for all school-going children has become a headache for parents, because they cannot afford to pay fees for their wards.  When someone is sick, it becomes a heart-wrenching moment, because our healthcare system is in a mess. This is not the Ghana we want,” he stated.

Continuing, Nana Addo wondered how President Mahama said all he did during his resent State of the Nation Address, considering the untold hardship Ghanaians are experiencing virtually in all angles. He pointed out that for Mahama to say there have been remarkable improvements in the country’s Healthcare, he must have lost contact with the common people and reality. While expressing this concern, Nana Addo said:

Is Mahama living in Ghana with us? Or, perhaps, he is living in a different country. We all know the difficulties and hardships that confront us in this country. He has no idea what Ghanaians are going through.”

He therefore urged Ghanaians to give him the opportunity to turn the pathetic conditions in the country around for the better. Also read: Give me the Chance to Change Ghana – Nana Akufo-Addo Appeals to Ghanaians.
