Amid all these, the relentless Dumelo supports Mahama and the NDC with all he has got
Amid the tons of back lashes against A-list actor, John Dumelo, over his support for President Mahama and the incumbent NDC, the actor in question has said he is not disturbed by the criticisms. He said this while addressing students of the Akatsi College of Education during the inauguration of the party’s tertiary youth wing, TEIN. Dumelo during his address said he is not at all perturbed by the back lashes, adding that his decision to support Mahama was one of his best decisions.
Attacks on Dumelo heightened this year when he publicly declared his support for Mahama in the upcoming elections. He had posted a tweet predicting the failure of New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Addo in the upcoming elections. This had caused many to frown at him for blindly supporting the ruling party and actively getting involved in politics. But amid all these, the relentless Dumelo supports Mahama and the NDC with all he has got.
It can also be recalled that Dumelo campaigned for Mahama in 2012 ahead of the general elections. Well he is back again on the NDC campaign trail ahead of the polls this November. Dumelo has been seen on many occasions supporting the ruling party in the past. He is also recalled to have done a TV commercial in 2012 for the NDC. The movie star in response to his critics said he campaigns for the party because he loved the message they preached.
Another incident which also raised eyebrows against Dumelo is that of May 2015, when he reportedly stated that Ghanaians were putting undue pressure on President Mahama to fix the country’s economic challenges. It had seemed like he was over-stepping his boundaries when he made those comments, but the movie star in justification of the comments, said his sentiments were totally misread and misunderstood.
In March this year, Dumelo was appointed Ghana’s Tourism ambassador .
