Super featherweight boxer Floyd Mayweather Jnr. has revealed that he will visit Ghana in June this year. The 40-year-old boxing champion is said to be coming to Ghana on an invitation of one of the country’s leading media outfits, EIB Network and Empire Network.

Floyd Mayweather’s visit to Ghana forms part of the champion’s tour of some Africa countries. The million-dollar boxer put out a video announcing his trip which had since been published by a number of portals. In the video, (courtesy of NY DJ’s Facebook page), Mayweather stated that his stop in Ghana will be on the 15th and 16th of June.

It was earlier rumored that the retired American boxer would be embarking on a tour of the African continent. But the boxing champion has now confirmed Ghana which is famous for its boxing history, having products like Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Joshua Clottey and Joseph Agbeko, as one of his destinations.

Although Mayweather previously indicated his African continent visit in a video also posted on social media few weeks ago, he was very specific about Ghana in this latest video. In the video, the 40-year-old who won all career fights before quitting the sport two years ago, revealed his plans for his trip to the West African country.

The celebrated boxer is also expected to visit Nigeria after his trip to Ghana as part of his Africa tour.

Floyd Mayweather competed from 1996 to 2015, and currently works as a boxing promoter. Tagged one of the greatest boxers of all time, Floyd won fifteen world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight classes (twice at welterweight).

The American also attracts a lot of attention because of his displays of wealth. He is often pictured flaunting US dollars leading to his nickname “The Money Man”. He currently runs his own boxing promotion imprint, Mayweather Promotions, which has Andrew Tabiti and Gervonta Davis on its roster.
