Ghana Draw 2-2 with China in New Cape Coast Stadium Opening Ceremony Match

The friendly match between Ghana and China at the official opening of the new Cape Coast Stadium built for Ghana by the People’s republic of China ended in a draw.

As part of the commissioning of the new edifice held Tuesday, Ghana invited their counterparts from China to grace the occasion. The game was used as a form of entertainment as well as for testing the new facilities at the 16,000 capacity stadium.

The Chinese U19 took the lead early in the first half with a header from a corner. But the Black Satellites cancelled out before the break through Evans Mensah.

Ghana piled pressure and shot ahead from a Charles Boateng header but at the eleventh hour, Lu Weng struck from the edge of the box for the equalizer.
