The Ghana Women of the Year Honours organized by publishers of Glitz Magazine was held on May 13, 2017, at the State Bouquet Hall in Accra. The second edition of the socialite honors saw Ghana’s finest and influential women in attendance.
Ghana Women of the year honors seeks to celebrate outstanding women who in their own ways and expertise contribute positively to make a difference in the society. The scheme also supports maternal health in Ghana by creating awareness.
The main event was preceded by two other events which sought to empower women. It began with The “She Summit” which was held on the 11th and 12th of May at the Swiss Spread, Alisa Hotel, North Ridge at 9 am each day.
Speakers at the summit included Madam Charlotte Osei, Chairperson, Electoral Commission, Madam Esther Cobbah of Strat Communications, Comfort A. Sakoma, a Business Development Strategist from Nigeria, Shirley Frimpong- Manso of Sparrow Productions and many other distinguished ladies.
The main event on May 13, saw women of great influence grace the occasion in their exquisite outfits which created a sophisticated scenery. Honorees in the likes of Film Producer and Director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso, Designer and Fashion School owner, Joyce Ababio among others, were recognized for their talent and contribution.
Big names like popular actresses Joselyn Dumas, Yvonne Okoro, Joy FM’s Doreen Andoh and Kojo Yankson, Live FM’s Berla Mundi, model Victoria Michaels, Nikki Samonas, among others, were all present at the event.
