This Nasty Joke By The British High Commissioner Has Got Ghanaians Really Angry


The British high commissioner to Ghana Jon Benjamin has got people really outraged after he made a supposedly nasty tweet which many saw as a slight to President John Mahama.

Ghanaian Twitter went ablaze after Jon benjamin wondered if the dry dusty harmattan air was inaugurated.

Though it may not look like he is throwing a shade at Mahama, a closer look at the tweet shows that he is indeed making a reference to Mahama’s inauguration of certain projects ahead of the December 7 elections.

Though it may not look like he is throwing a shade at Mahama, a closer look at the tweet shows that he is indeed making a reference to Mahama’s inauguration of certain projects ahead of the December 7 elections.

Following Jon’s tweet and after very close examination of the shade, Ghanaians have taken to the social media to vent their anger at the audacity of the British High Commissioner.

What made it all worse is that Jon’s comment were perceived as an insult to a sitting President an as such, he should have known better than to have made the tweet in the first place.

Immediately the attacks began, Jon quickly deleted the post and quickly tried to clarify that he meant no insult with the tweet

But his attempt only seemed to cause more outrage as more tweets followed his response:
