Gyan at Kayserispor: The Black Stars Skipper, Asamoah Gyan thrilled fans and stunned opponents when he scored a late minute goal against Fenerbahce on Monday night at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadi. That was Gyan’s first league goal for Kayserispor and it was indeed dramatic, or rather magical!
Asamoah Gyan took advantage of Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik’s cross in the extra time – 95th minute, to head the ball into the net at close range. Gyan actually, did not start the match with teammates, but was called off the bench at the minute 73rd minute.
Kayserispor and Fenerbahce had finished half time on equal grounds, with each of the teams going in with a goal, courtesy of Umut Bulut’s opener and Ozan Tufan’s retaliation respectively. Fenerbahce however, gained dominance in the early stages of the second half, taking a two-goal advantage and keeping a 3-2 lead against the Anatolians.

The draw has lifted Gyan’s side into fourth place on the Turkish Super Lig standings on 18 points – five points behind leaders Galatasaray – after 10 games.

Asamoah Gyan completed a 2-year deal with Turkish Club, Kayserispor FC on Wednesday, 3rd July, 2017, with an option to extend the deal to an extra year. Since his move to the side, Gyan has been living up to the expectation of fans who had given him an epic welcome on his arrival.
Gyan who has had his career threatened by injuries in recent times started working assiduously on his form ahead of this season’s transfer window, and the sacrifice is paying off well. Recall that on his first outing for the Anatolian Stars, Gyan bagged a brace to push Kayserispor to a 4-2 win against Hannover 96 in a friendly that came off on Thursday, July 27.
With 51 international goals to his credit, Asamoah Gyan remains Ghana’s All-Time Top Scorer, as well as Africa’s Highest World Cup scorer. The Ghanaian player who has a Charity Foundation and a Sports Centre to his credit, recently launched his Baby Jet Airlines. He also not long ago, became the first Ghanaian active footballer to be honoured with a doctorate degree.
