Gyan is back! And back for good. The number 3 has proven himself on his first game with new club Al Ahli. Making a remarkable return, Gyan scores on debut for Al Ahli against his former club Al Ain, in  a 5-1 mauling of his former side Al Ain.

Gyan who was introduced into the game from the bench in the 72nd minute, scored the fourth goal, as Ahli won 5-1 on Wednesday. With his debut goal, Gyan can be said to have silenced his critics, as well as report that he is medically unfit to be in the pitch.

The former Sunderland striker who was reported to have failed a medical at English Championship side Reading, was quickly signed on by Al Ahli on transfer deadline day. Gyan has reunited with his former manager at Al Ain – Cosmin Olaroiu, at Al Ahli, and their reunion is proving worthy for the Garden City club.

Following his failed Reading deal, Gyan was reported to be the latest victim medical failures. Owing to the fact that the transfer window was almost over, and Gyan according to reports, was to stay off the pitch for 8 weeks, it was feared that the striker would be without a club.

The rumours circulated despite reports from his team to counter the notion that he was medically unfit. But Gyan in his debut game at Al Ahli, did not hesitate to prove himself at the slightest opportunity.

Gyan had been anticipated by his fans, to join former UAE side Al Ain, having made a name for himself while at the club. The skipper had joined Al Ain from English Premiere League side, Sunderland, in 2011. During his four seasons at Al Ain, he led the side to three UAE pro titles, one President’s cup, and one Super cup, scoring 113 goals in all competitions.
