Gyan’s Kayserispor debut saw him score twice to inspire his new Turkish side to a 4-2 victory over German side Hannover 96 in a club friendly.
Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan scored two late goals to push Kayserispor FC to a 4-2 win against Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96 in the friendly match that came off on Thursday, July 27.
The popular striker registered his name on the score sheet when he came on in the 83rd minute and converted a spot-kick to draw the Turkish side level on 2-2. Three minutes later, Gyan scored again to take his side to a 3-2 lead, before his teammate Wellinton completed the scoring.
Asamoah Gyan completed a 2-year deal with Kayserispor on 5th July, 2017, with an option to extend the deal to an extra year. Gyan’s Kayserispor debut brace is really a bright and promising start for the Black Stars skipper at the Turkish side.
Kayserispor fans who had given the world famous striker an impressive and rousing welcome on his arrival at the side were greatly impressed.
Recently, Gyan was harshly criticized by Ghanaian football fans for his once again penalty miss in the friendly between Ghana and USA. But he has continued to prove his critics wrong with his outstanding achievements.
Ahead the new season, Gyan was severally spotted, doing fitness training to prepare himself for the task ahead. The 31-year-old is also set to prove himself the more when the Marius Șumudică’s men travel to Galatasaray for their Turkish Super League opener on August 14.
With 51 international goals to his credit, Asamoah Gyan remains Ghana’s All-Time Top Scorer, as well as Africa’s Highest World Cup scorer. The Ghanaian player who recently launched his sports centre, has also become the first Ghanaian active footballer to be honoured with a doctorate degree.
