Klottey Korle Saga: Nii Ashietey’s Lawyer, Gary Nimako Says His Life Is In Danger

Gary Nimako, Nii Ashietey’s lawyer, has recently said his life is in danger, as he is always followed by some unknown persons. He has raised an alarm on this in a letter addressed to the High Court for the adjournment of suit against Zanetor. In this, he said he has informed the police of the unidentified threats and that he has equally made plans for beefing up security for himself and his family.

An ongoing suit filed by Nii Ashietey’s lawyer against Zanetor challenges her eligibility to vote or emerge as an NDC representative for Klottey Korle constituency. Lawyers for Zanetor had filed an application praying court to dismiss the suit as they regarded the claims made by Nii Ashietey as premature. But unfortunately for Zanetor, court ordered them to open their defense, as the suit filed by the plaintiff was without bias.

Nii Ashietey’s Lawyer, however, says his mind is no longer at peace as he maintains he is being followed by unknown people. He also recalled an incident where he had to pass by a police check point as he was being trailed, but the trailers absconded on getting to the police check point.

Gary Nimako has recently been involved in some legal tussle in the NPP, where he represented Nii Noi Nortey an NPP aspirant who was also unsatisfied with his loss to the winner, Philip Addison in the NPP Klottey Korle Parliamentary primaries.

Philip Addison who is also a well known lawyer is urging Nii Nortey to accept the election results, so they can continue in their quest to achieve the party’s objective.

Nii Ashietey is on the case against Zanetor Rawlings after she defeated him in the ruling NDC’s parliamentary primary held in November 2015. Hieclaims that Dr. Zanetor is not a registered voter. Seeing how involving the suit is, both the NDC and the Electoral Commission are all involved in the case.
