UPDATE: Kumawood Child Star, Maame Serwaa Responds to Pregnancy Rumours

Reports from GHpage few days ago had it that Ghanaian teenage actress, Clara Benson, popularly known as Maame Serwaa is pregnant. However, Maame Serwaa reacts to the said rumours in an interview…

According to the GHpage report, the 17-year-old actress is three months pregnant. Maame Serwaa who should currently be in SHS form 2 reportedly re-enrolled in another school – the Nyarko Secondary School in Kumasi close to her residence and away from prying media eyes as a result of her condition.

The award winning actress had been on the news on several occasions for one romantic affair or the other, all of which had always been dismissed as unfounded rumours.

Some of the actors she had reportedly had affairs with include Bill Asamoah and Prince David Osei. All of them denied such allegations though.

However, the popular actress has come out once more to debunk all such rumours. Speaking in an interview Tuesday, Maame Serwaa reacts to the pregnancy allegation, saying it is false. According to her, the story was fabricated.

Her words:

I am not pregnant. The person who wrote the story called me not long ago to tell me what happened before the story went out. He told me that someone gave him (the writer) the information that I am pregnant. The writer told me that the person who gave him the info said he is my brother and he was walking with me at the time he was telling him the story.

He said he did not believe the story so he requested for my number but the person gave him a wrong number so he thought it wise to put out the story because the truth will come out after he has published the story since he is not getting through to me.

He apologized to me and told me he will write another story to tell Ghanaians that the pregnancy allegation he wrote about me is false.”

She also refuted claims that she changed her school because of the pregnancy. She instead explained that her reason for enrolling at the Nyarko Girls’ Seconday School was because she wanted a single-sex school and didn’t want to continue in her former school which is a mixed-sex school.

If we could still recall, Maame Serwaa, during her 16th birthday, held last year at the Aphrodisiac Nite Club, advised her fellow teens to abstain from drug abuse and teenage pregnancy. We therefore sincerely hope she heeds that same advice she gave out to others.
