As a form of support to the actor, President Mahama donates GHC5000 to Wayoosi to help foot his medical bills

Ailing Kumawood star Joseph Nana Osei Kofi popularly called Wayoosi, has started getting positive responses from the public since news of his critical illness broke out. As a form of support to the actor, President Mahama donates GHC5000 to Wayoosi to help foot his medical bills. Wayoosi was earlier reported to be in a critical condition and receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Mahama’s donation was disclosed by Clement Bonney (Mr Beautiful) who is the Project Co-ordinator for ‘Celebrities for Mahama’. Mahama has in recent times extended a hand to celebrities in need through the ‘Celebrities for Mahama’ initiative which seeks to better the welfare of old personalities in the entertainment industry. According to reports, Ghanaian acts like C.K. Mann, J.A Adofo, Kofi Laing (Kohwe), Paapa Yankson, Ewurama Badu, William Addo have benefited from the platform.

Some sources had rumoured Wayoosi to be dead a few weeks ago, leaving many who believed in big shock. But recent media reports trashed the rumours, confirming the actor to be critically ill at KATH. This was followed by shocking photos showing the actor’s condition [See Photos]. Fans of the actor and the entire Kumawood family have been soliciting prayers, as well as funds from the public, to foot his medical bills. Since then the family have been getting positive responses from the public.

On a brighter side, wife of the ailing Kumawood star Evelyn, recently disclosed that her husband is responding positively to treatment. She revealed this while speaking to Eugene Moratt of New Mercury FM in Kumasi. Wayoosi’s wife has also thanked the public on her husband’s behalf, for their prayers and support.
