Ace Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo has delved into cassava farming as part of the chain of his newly founded agricultural business. The actor cum politician cum businessman is really living the proverb that “one does not stand at a place to watch a masquerade”.
John recently took some youths to his farm in Manya Krobo community, where they have started planting Cassava on a 3-acre land, hoping to expand it to 10 acres.
The actor who never blushes over any business or activity he engages in took to his Facebook page to announce the new step in his agricultural career. Posting a photo of himself sweating it out in a cassava farm with some youngsters, Dumelo wrote:
Organized the youth this morning in the Manya Krobo community to get into agriculture. We have started with 3 acres of cassava and hopefully will increase it to ten by the end of the year. #johndumelofoundation #agriculturethenewgold #melomoment #proudfarmer
Going by the hashtags he attached to his post, it is clear that John Dumelo is already falling into line with President Nana Addo’s vision of “Planting for Food and Jobs”, as well as making agriculture one of the major sources of revenue in the country, aside gold mining.

Earlier in January, he took to his snapchat streaming page to announce his new business line with a picture tagged “The goats have arrived…melo farms”. It was actually from the post that everyone came to speculate that the name of the farm could actually be ‘Melo’.
As earlier mentioned, John Dumelo is one of those celebrities who so much believe in themselves that they count worthy, any venture they decide to try their hands on. The actor has portrayed this attitude not just in his business line but also in his acting career as well as his political zeal.
