Founder and pastor of the Glorious Word Ministry, Reverend Owusu Bempah was yesterday [Wednesday] released by the Criminal and Investigation Department (CID) after a brief interrogation over Nana Addo’s assassination prophesy.
Prophet Owusu Bempah, who is known for making controversial prophesies had earlier claimed that there are ongoing plots to assassinate the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo. This he said, was revealed to him by God.
According to the Nana Addo’s assassination prophesy by Rev. Bempah, some members of the NDC in collaboration with some NPP members who are not in good spirit with the NPP flag bearer, are making plans to shoot Nana Addo dead in one of his campaign rallies ahead of the December polls.
Owusu Bempah reportedly mentioned the Volta Region where Nana Addo is currently on a five-day tour as the assailants’ target spot. He had warned the NPP not to takes his words for a joke but rather, to put in place strict security measures to forestall the vicious act.
Following the Nana Addo’s assassination prophesy, the police invited Owusu Bempah to the Criminal and Investigation Department (CID) to answer some questions that will give them clue on how to manage the situation as well as track down the suspects. The pastor honoured the invitation yesterday when he reported at the police station for the interrogation. However, the prophet told the CID that “God did not mention” the prospective killers, thereby rendering his report at the station fruitless.
During the brief interrogation, a crowd of his church members thronged the police station, protesting their pastor’s report at the station as well as waiting to see the outcome of the interrogation. According to them, there was no reason why the man of God should be invited by the police.
Owusu Bempah himself, had also stated earlier that his invitation by the police is unnecessary, considering the fact that the prophesy is a spiritual affair while the CID’s interrogation is physical.
Citi News’ Caleb Kudah also reported that “Prophet Joshua Eric Amponsah also known as Computer man was also there to show solidarity.” Prophet Amposah said he didn’t see anything wrong with Owusu Bempah’s prophecy. According to him, it is a “purely spiritual affair” prompted by the Holy Spirit and nothing would have stopped him from making the prophesy known.
Nana Addo Will Win the 2016 Election
Prophet Owusu Bempah had also prophesied that the NPP flagbearer will come out victorious in this year’s election. Although he predicted some accompanying challenges, he was very confident of his words and called on “whoever can enter the spiritual realm to do so to verify if he is saying the truth”.
By implication, it is obvious that Revd Bempah is against President Mahama in the upcoming polls. We can recall that the pastor vowed to burn his bible if Mahama ever wins the election!
Meanwhile, the Director General of Police Operations, COP Christian Tetteh Yohunu, has warned men of God to desist from making electoral prophecies that could create fear, panic, and chaos, adding that police will take any of such comments very seriously.
