According to Citi Fm reports, Nana Addo’s Thank You Tour of the Northern Region will be a two-day visit. He is expected on arrival at the Tamale Airport, to call on the Nalerigu overlord of the Mamprugu traditional area, the Nayiri, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga.

On Friday, the President-elect is expected to pay courtesy calls on the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Andani and the Abudus Regent, the Boling-Lana in Yendi. He will also visit the Yagbonwura’s Palace in Damongo to thank the people of Gonjaland for their support.

Despite being the home of the incumbent President, the soon-to-be-ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) recorded significant success in the Northern Region in the last election, having won 14 out of the 31 parliamentary seats in the region.

The tell-tale sign of NPP’s victory in the Northern Region was reflected in the alleged cold welcome they gave to President Mahama on his visit to the region in the last days of campaigns ahead of the elections.
