The NPP has gained such a massive ground in the Volta Region that appears to have shaken the NDC’s foundation in the Volta Region, a stronghold of the latter
Presidential flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo has been on a five-day campaign tour of the Volta Region since Monday.
According to reports, the NPP is witnessing such a tremendous success that has never been recorded in the party’s history in the Volta region. The NPP is saying that from the look of things, the party will exceed the targeted 30% votes and 3 parliamentary seats in the region.
Speaking to Accra-based Class Fm, Pius Hadzie, a campaign aide to Nana Addo pointed out that, the kind of warm reception accorded the NPP by Voltarians in their present visit to the region is unprecedented. According to him, it will be ‘misleading’ as well as an ‘outright lie’ for anyone to currently describe the Volta Region as an NDC stronghold.
Continuing, Pius Hadzie said that the encouraging response of Voltarians to the NPP’s message of change made him wonder if they were in the Ashanti, Eastern or Central Region. He concluded by saying that with the wind of change that is blowing in the Volta region, the NPP may need to revise their 30% popular votes and 3 parliamentary seats target.
It was also reported that, a week ago, The NDC’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia told a crowd in the Volta Region that he regrets not paying attention to the impact the NPP is making across the region. This lends credence to the claims that the NPP is gaining grounds in the Volta Region.
Moreover, the Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP), Nana Akomea has said the large crowds at Nana Akufo-Addo’s rallies in the NDC’s stronghold – Volta region should be a frightening news for the NDC ahead of the December 7 elections.
Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Nana Akomea said the toppling of the NDC’s foundation by the NPP in this election is evident in the massive endorsements the NPP is garnering in the Volta Region, to the extent that even chiefs are publicly renouncing the ruling party as a result of a number of complaints.
Making reference to the recent endorsement of Nana Addo by the Peki Chief, Biakoye chief, among others, the NPP general secretary stressed that “a wind of change is blowing in this elections”.
Nana Akomea advised all NPP supporters to be wary against rigging in the coming elections seeing that majority of Ghanaians are interested in the NPP’s message of change.
