An assertion by a former Presby principal officer has implied that Prof Martey lied when he told Ghanaians that he rejected different forms of bribe from politicians
A shocking revelation has been made concerning the assertions made by the outgoing Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Prof. Emmanuel Martey.
It appears the outgoing moderator lied when he said he rejected bribes given to him by politicians, to keep his mouth shut when it comes to political matters.
Prof Emmanuel Martey during a press conference on Tuesday, had said he almost unleashed his dogs on the unnamed politicians, who had come to bribe him to keep his mouth shut.
The outspoken moderator added that he will continue to speak the truth, as he has refused to be muzzled by politicians.
However, a former Public Relations Officer of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Dr Emmanuel Osei Acheampong, has revealed that the outgoing moderator of the church accepted money and vehicle as bribe from some politicians. Dr Emmanuel Acheampong said he collected $100,000 from one of the leading opposition parties.
But speaking on Kasapa FM, Dr Acheampong said that Prof Martey lied, and that he is pulling the wool out of the eyes of Ghanaians, for making such assertions.
He stressed that the bribe which the moderator collected, was meant to influence the church’s sermons and pursue the agenda of the party.
Dr Acheampong also said that Prof. Martey after collecting the bribe, attempted to give him [Dr Acheampong] part of the money; a sum of $50,000.
The former PCG PRO went ahead to indicate that he has evidence to back his claims and will make them available in due time.
This recent revelation by Dr. Acheampong has left the public in a state of confusion as both parties are notable stakeholders in PCG. Who do you think is saying the truth? Let’s hear your views.
