We Will Fight Against Rigging of 2016 Elections -Samira Bawumia

Samira Bawumia during her address, pointed out that the 2012 election was evidently rigged.

Wife of running mate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Samira Bawumia, has said the party will do all within its power to ensure that this year’s election is not rigged, in favour of the incumbent government. Mrs. Bawumia has also said that the NPP has put in place measures to ensure there is no repeat of what happened in 2012.

Dr. Bawumia’s wife said this while addressing supporters at Awutu Bontrase in the Central Region, during a mini rally of the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Awutu Senya constituency, George Andah. Samira made reference to the 2012 presidential elections, which saw President Mahama emerge winner.

According to her, the election was rigged, as was evident in the inflated numbers in some constituencies. Samira Bawumia continued that the opposition party would be more vigilant this year, to avoid a recurrence of such unwelcome developments.

She also urged the residents to come out in their numbers and vote for the NPP and the MP aspirant for the constituency. She told the people that, the NDC government does not deserve another term since it has failed to provide basic amenities including water and electricity to residents in the constituency.

Samira Bawumia gave a lot of reasons why NPP should be voted into power. Citing the current harsh economy, high rate of unemployment, skyrocketed utility tariffs, etc; Samira assured that the NPP if given the nod, will bring about a positive change in the system.

She also pointed out that since the NDC has not been able to put an end to the various discomforting issues within 8 years of leadership, there’s no need voting them into power any more.
