Three year old Georgina was diagnosed and treated of severe anaemia and meningitis at Volta Region Hospital. The Medical Officer, Dr. Bright Agbanyo, said she was admitted in December 2015 at the emergency unit.

Having goten better, her father Mr Koku was unable to foot the bills for the treatment presented by the hospital. Although the bill was later reduced by the officers, they were still not able to comply. However they had to remain in the hospital pending when they made their payments.

And them came a saviour! The Rotaract club discovered the family during a visit to the hospital to make donations on the eve of Valentine’s day. They then offered to pay all the bills accumulated during the treatment of the little girl.

Her father was very grateful to the group for relieving him of his huge burden. He also explained that he was not able to comply due to harsh economic conditions which had a great negative effect on him and his finances.

The medical officers including Dr. Agbanyo also thanked the group for their awesome deeds and equally hoped others would imbibe such virtue in subsequent times.

Mr. Koku is very happy as he can now take three year old Georgina to finally reunite with her family.
