But a recent critical look into the business world in the country revealed that the greater credit goes to Nigerian business tycoons in Ghana. Without any notion of bias or degradation, Nigerians are rated the third biggest investors in the Ghanaian economy and have been discovered to be to a great extent, the real strong pillars holding the economy of the country.

Prince Emmanuel Okeson is a Nigerian entrepreneur who sets the pace in the lighting sector in Ghana. He owns City Lights, the biggest lighting company in West Africa. Mr. Okeson who also has investments in other sectors of the Ghanaian economy, including Agriculture, Civil Construction, Real Estate, Water Engineering, Micro Finance and Hospitality, is one of the very few Nigerians recently selected as outstanding personalities, awarded by the West Africa Nobles Forum with the aim to pool together prominent West Africans with sublime achievements. Chief Emmanuel Okeson is one of the biggest individual employers of labour in Ghana. Babalola Babatunde


Babalola Babatunde is an oil and gas billionaire whose business is established both in Ghana and Nigeria, his homeland. He owns and runs First Deep Water Discovery Ghana Limited, a big time oil and gas company.

Dele Momodu


Dele Momodu is a Ghana-based Nigerian Journalist/Publisher, polemicist, businessman, philanthropist, actor and motivational speaker. He is the CEO and publisher of Ovation International, a magazine that has given publicity to people from all over the World, mainly in Africa. Salma Idriss Okonkwo works at UBI Energy Ghana Limited and Televeras Group; she resigned her job at a multinational oil company and began looking at other aspects of marketing petroleum refined products. She is the woman in charge of affairs at the UBI ENergy Ghana ltd. She has four stations and counting in Kasoa, Kumasi, Lashibi and Dumfoasi in the Volta Region in Ghana. Her husband and family have been a great support towards her ability to generate capital and developing ideas which have made her one of the top female Nigerians in Ghana.

Otunba Micheal Ajayi


Otunba Ajayi is known as the Director General of Ghana-Nigeria Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also the C.E.O. of Vintage Visions Ghana Limited, a company that is mainly involved in organizing Business Summit and other business improving events. Otunba Ajayi organised the first Ghana-Togo-Benin-Nigeria Business summit with the theme: ‘Breaking Barrier and Partnering to Optimise Trade Potential’, back in 2009. Aside being the Chief Executive Officer of Vintage & Visions Limited, he is the author of ‘Nigeria Diplomatic Footprints in Ghana: The Obanikoro Years.’ He recently organised the first of its kind made in Ghana Solo Exhibition; a project which was aimed at helping Ghanaian manufacturers penetrate the Nigerian market. His contributions to the fostering of Ghana-Nigeria relationship has over the years focused on the fostering of economic integration between Nigeria and Ghana.

Mr. Lekan Sanusi


Mr. Olalekan Sanusi is the current Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, Ghana. He was the Managing Director/Chief Executive of Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, Gambia, before he was transferred to Ghana. He has occupied the same post for the bank in Lagos Nigeria. Mr. Sanusi is a genius who holds a first class honors as well as a Master of Science degrees in Economics. In addition, he bagged a Master of Arts degree (with distinction) in Banking & Finance from the University of Sheffield, UK (1996).

He joined the bank for the first time in March 1995, during which time he worked in various Corporate and Commercial Banking Teams/Groups, and also initiated the establishment and management of a number of branches of the bank in Nigeria.

Charles Adeniji


Mr Charles Adeniji is the Chairman/ Managing Director at AlphaSix Nigeria Ltd. Mr Adeniji studied at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND and has over 30 years of experience in the field of oil and gas ( both downstream and upstream). He was the immediate past MD of the West African Pipeline Gas Pipeline Company, WAGPCO in Accra, Ghana. He was also the former Executive Director at OPTS and Regional Manager at CALAEP.

Mr. Gabriel Edgal


Mr. Gabriel Ohioma Edgal is a tested and tried banker who has served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of UBA Africa, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of UBA Ghana Limited, the subsidiary of United Bank, and General Manager and Divisional Head of Group Treasury at United Bank for Africa Plc. He has held several other key positions at different banks including Ecobank Nigeria Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and Capital Bank International Ltd, Nigeria. He is currently the CEO of First Atlantic Bank Ltd. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria and an MBA degree from the University of Lagos. 

Alex Mbakogu


Mr. Alexander O. Mbakogu, also known as Alex, became the Managing Director of Leasafric Ghana Limited, which is a leading name in Finance and leasing services in Ghana since August 6, 2015. He served as Chief Finance Officer of C & I Leasing Plc until August 6, 2015 when he took up his current appointment. Mr. Mbakogu has considerable experience in leasing. Mr. Dolapo Ogundimu


Mr. Ogundinmu is professional banker who delved into the career way back in his school days. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ogun State University, Nigeria in 1986 and a Master’s in Business Administration from the same University. He has also attended several management development programmes at the Lagos Business School, Nigeria, Columbia Business School New York, International Institute of Management Development (IMD) Switzerland, IESE Barcelona Spain and recently, Kellogg School of Management. He has been in the field for over 25 years and has held positions across various institutions in different parts of the continent. Mr. Ogundimu has a strong record in business combination, strategic planning, and relationship management and is known to have pioneered successful startups including the inception of Guarantee Trust Bank Ghana in 1990.

Mr Samuel Ayininuola is the MD and Chief Executive Officer Energy Bank Ghana Limited. He is a Chartered Accountant with many years of successful banking career at both NAL Merchant Bank Plc and RIMS Merchant Bank Limited. He served as Executive Director, Risk Management and Control and Executive Director, Banking Operations at Union Bank from March, 2006 to August 2009. Mr. Ayininuola graduated with a First Class degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Ife in June 1976. He has an MBA degree from the University of Lagos, in December 1985. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI).

Mr. Banigbe Obafemi


Obafemi Banigbe is the acting CEO and Chief Operations Officer of Millicom Ghana Limited, operator of Tigo. He is also a motivational speaker who usually hold series of conferences for youths. Yemi Adetuwo

Yemi Adetuwo is one of the big men in Ghana who are right there behind the scene controlling fortunes. He joined the Equity Assurance Company, Ghana in 1995.
